In April 2019 Barrie and District Association of REALTORS® (BDAR) hosted a successful three-day technology focused sequence of events with over 300 attendees.
Day one started with a hands-on GeoWarehouse training, followed by day two of panel discussions with leaders in the industry from Core Logic, Prospects Mobile, Teranet Inc, and ShowingTime. Following the panel was an exclusive training with Charles Drouin, CEO of Prospects Mobile showing BDAR REALTOR®Members how to optimize their Prospects Mobile app. Day three brought Quick Tips with Information Technology expert Ernie Vance covering Matrix™, internet safety and privacy and other helpful technology tricks.
DAY ONE: GeoWarehouse by Teranet Training
Theresa Corindia, Training Program Leader from Teranet Inc. brought a hands-on approach to GeoWarehouse training. The members engaged in an intimate setting to learn how to create more detailed property reports, search options and so much more. The training sessions were interactive and captivating, the members were engaged and encouraged to ask questions.
DAY TWO: REALTalk Tech Talk Panel Discussion
The main event of the Tech Talk Series was held the morning of April 11th. This panel discussion consisted of four parts, moderated by Chantal Traversy, 2019 Board of Director and Chair of the Professional Standards and Development Committee (PSDC).
The panel explored industry trends, what to look for in technology disruptors, the future of the MLS® and how BDAR Member tools and resources support members in being the first choice for informed consumers. We had four panelists; Todd Targgart, Account manager at CoreLogic, Charles Drouin CEO of Prospects Mobile, Greg Van Zuiden, Senior Training Specialist at Showing Time, and Paul McGowan, Leader in Product Management at Teranet Inc.
The panelists each did a presentation on how their organizations are changing technology in the world of Real Estate and gave members a sneak peak at what to expect in the upcoming future. Todd Targgart engaged the members with more information regarding the MLS® integration with 23 other boards. Charles Drouin spoke on Prospects integration with Core Logic. Greg Van Zuiden showed how members can optimize their Showing Time app and learn what upcoming changes and integrations are coming. Paul McGowan discussed services and property tools available for local BDAR REALTORS® helping set them as leading industry experts in the Greater Simcoe Region. Chantal then opened the floor up to our members to engage in a question and answer period on any topics covered during the panel.
DAY TWO: Prospects Mobile App & CRM Training
In the afternoon following the REALTalk Tech Talk Panel, Charles Drouin Founder and CEO of Prospects Mobile hosted an exclusive interactive training session for our members. Charles shared insider tips on what is changing with the Prospects Mobile app. He went over different search options, how to customize the app and overall how to optimize Prospects Mobile application.
DAY THREE: Quick Tips with Ernie Vance
Ernie Vance hosted an interactive training session for our members. Ernie covered MLS® tips, internet browser safety, home widgets, hot sheets and so much more. Ernie discussed the importance of internet safety and how to protect information on a computer. He shared helpful email tips and showed our members how to customize their internet experience to make it more seamless.
