2020 Quarter 1 Real Estate Sales

BARRIE AND DISTRICT ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® (BDAR) RELEASE 2020 QUARTER ONE (Q1) STATISTICS


April 7th, 2019 - March 31,2020 marked the end of Quarter One (Q1) for 2020, and residential sales information is in with residential property sales recorded through the Matrix™ System for the Barrie and District Association of REALTORS® Inc. (BDAR).


 

Quarter 1 2020 compared to Quarter 1 2019

Simcoe County Residential Units Sold

The following shows the residential sales activity for units sold in Quarter 1 (Q1).


Simcoe County

There was a 31.4% increase in units sold when compared to Q1 2019 (Q1 2020 with 1205 units sold vs Q1 2019 with 917 units sold)


Barrie

The number of sales increased 47.8% in Q1 2020 (603 units sold) when compared to Q1 2019 (408 units sold).


Simcoe County Excluding Barrie

The number of sales increased 18.3% in Q1 2020 (602 units sold) when compared to Q1 2019 (509 units sold).

Simcoe County Average Residential Price

The following shows the average sales price for residential properties in Quarter 1 (Q1).


Simcoe County

Average price of homes in Simcoe county during Q1 2020 was $537,676. This was a 6.1% growth from the same timeframe last year.


Barrie

Home prices within Barrie increased to $525,723, which was a 9.6% increase from Q1 of last year.


Simcoe County Excluding Barrie

Simcoe County Excluding Barrie had an average price of $552,839. This was a 5.2% increase form Q1 of 2019.
