BDAR Stats: March 2024

April 16, 2024

The Barrie & District Association of REALTORS® (BDAR) reveals a steady upward trajectory in Simcoe County's real estate market for March 2024. While sales slightly dipped by 1.35% from last year, a robust rebound from February to March of 18.17% signals a vibrant market. The average sale price climbed to $871,394, marking a 2.07% increase year-over-year, reflecting sustained market health.

Notably, new and active listings rose by 22.96% and 9.50% respectively from the previous month, despite a year-over-year decrease, indicating an active market with more choices for buyers.

"The March statistics showcase the resilience and adaptability of Simcoe County's real estate market. Despite a slight year-over-year decrease in sales, the substantial month-over-month increase and the continued growth in average prices demonstrate the underlying strength of our housing landscape," said BDAR Chair, Lindsay Percy. "The increase in new listings from last month is a positive sign, offering more options for buyers and contributing to a healthy market dynamic as we move into the spring market."

As the real estate market in Simcoe County continues to evolve, BDAR remains committed to providing detailed insights and analysis.
