On January 22, 2020 BDAR opened the doors to the membership and special guests to celebrate 2019 and get the momentum moving for 2020. 2019 brought BDAR a new facility, new technology, engaging and exciting events and so much more. Rolling into 2020 BDAR is growing, changing, adapting and evolving. With the theme of Feel the Momentum and the hype for the new year and decade the celebration was in full swing at the BDAR 2020 Vision Member Open House.
2020 President Robin Jones started the morning by welcoming everyone and recognizing special guests: Tim Hudak, OREA CEO, Mike Douglas, OREA Director-at-large and BDAR Past President, City of Barrie Mayor Jeff Lehman, and our special community outreach partners Habitat for Humanity Huronia and Youth Haven. A cheque was then presented to Habitat for Humanity Huronia for the sum of $10,000 as part of the 2019 REALTORS® Care Foundation and a $3000 cheque was presented to Youth Haven, both local shelter-based charitable organizations.
Special guest, City of Barrie Mayor Jeff Lehman spoke on the industrial and residential development changes for the area with specifics on City of Barrie’s downtown core. Mayor Jeff Lehman spoke highly on the real estate industry and how local BDAR REALTOR® Members are integral on the housing and intensification of the region.
The day spent a few moments honoring the 2019 Board of Directors and all the achievements that were made in 2019. Directors leaving the board were given a token of appreciation for their contributions to the Association.
Tim Hudak, OREA CEO was welcomed to the stage to install the 2020 Board of Directors which include:

Keynote speaker, Tim Hudak then touched on the role of real estate professionals, local Associations and OREA. He highlighted the Ontario REALTOR® Party Conference held in November 2019, the progress in updates to the Real Estate Business and Brokers Act (REBBA) and The Trust in Real Estate Services Act (TRESA).
The day was filled with an engaging audience, new information and a great outlook for 2020. BDAR will be hosting many more events in 2020, stay tuned! #FeelTheMomentum
