BARRIE AND DISTRICT ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® RELEASE 2019 QUARTER THREE (Q3) STATISTICS
October 8th, 2019 - September 30, 2019 marked the end of quarter three (Q3) for 2019, and residential sales information is in with residential property sales recorded through the Matrix™ System for the Barrie and District Association of REALTORS® Inc. (BDAR). The year continues strong when comparing Q3 data (July 1, 2019 – September 30, 2019) to the same period in 2018 (July 1, 2018 – September 30, 2018).
Quarter 3 2019 compared to Quarter 3 2018
Simcoe County Residential Units Sold
2019 continued strong with the number of sales up from last year’s Q3. This was driven by an increased number of sales inside and outside of Barrie.
Simcoe County
There was a 14.5% increase in units sold when compared to Q3 2018 (Q3 2019 with 1406 units sold vs Q3 2018 with 1228 units sold)
Barrie
The number of sales increased 14.2% in Q3 2019 (659 Units sold) when compared to Q3 2018 (577 units sold).
Simcoe County Excluding Barrie
The number of sales increased 14.7% in Q3 2019 (747 units sold) when compared to Q3 2018 (651 units sold).
Quarter 3 2019 compared to Quarter 3 2018
Simcoe County Average Residential Price
Average price during Q3 2019 was up when compared to Q3 2018. This was driven by Barrie, which showed modest growth in the average price of units sold. Simcoe Excluding Barrie, however, showed a slight decline.
Simcoe County
The average price of homes in Simcoe county during Q3 2019 was $505,311. This was a 2.7% growth from the same timeframe last year.
Barrie
Home prices within Barrie increased to $488,264, which was a 4.3% increase from Q3 of last year.
Simcoe County Excluding Barrie
Simcoe County Excluding Barrie saw an increase of 4.8%, which resulted in an average price of $530,222.
