Simcoe County's real estate market has demonstrated a strong start to 2024, according to the latest January Market Report by the Barrie & District Association of REALTORS® (BDAR). January's figures demonstrate significant year-over-year growth in sales and listings, with prices holding stable and an uptick in new listing activity, signaling a promising outlook for the market.
378 units were sold last month, representing a 15.60% increase compared to January 2023. Despite a slight decrease in average sale prices by 5.19% year-over-year to $790,292, the market remains resilient with a healthy balance of inventory and demand. Notably, new listings surged to 1,083, a dramatic 123.76% increase from December 2023, providing more opportunities for buyers entering the market.
"The January statistics reflect a vibrant and growing market in Simcoe County. With the rise in sales and listings, along with stable prices, we're observing a market that is adjusting well and poised for continued growth. The significant increase in new listings from last month is particularly encouraging, as it contributes to a balanced and healthy real estate environment,” said BDAR Chair, Lindsay Percy.
As the real estate market in Simcoe County continues to evolve, BDAR remains committed to providing detailed insights and analysis.
